LONGMEADOW, MA - James A. Whitehouse 66, of this town, passed away on September 21st at Brigham and Women's Hospital. Born in Boston, he was a longtime resident of the Mission Hill section of the city, and had most recently resided in Longmeadow, Mass. He was in the National Guard and a U.S. Army veteran, and had recently retired from a long career in electronic engineering management. He earned his amateur radio license at the age of sixteen, and signed off as K1JAW after fifty years of operation. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara, and their three beloved children, Laura Whitehouse of Springfield, Susan Whitehouse of Chicopee, and James Whitehouse of Longmeadow. He also leaves behind his two sisters and their husbands, Evelyn and Frank Pasquine of Stoughton and Margaret and James Kenney of Rockland, as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010 at 8:45 am from the Forastiere-Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main St. East Longmeadow, MA, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Mary's Church, 519 Longmeadow St., Longmeadow, MA. Visiting hours at the funeral home are Friday, Sept 24th from 4-8 pm.
